Scaldini is an ongoing exhibition by Tersa currently on view in Perugia, presenting a series of objects that move between domestic device, sculptural presence and spatial condition. Rooted in the traditional hand warmer, the project revisits a minor artifact connected to intimacy, proximity and temporary forms of comfort. Heat emerges as a relational agent, able to gather bodies, organise distances and activate forms of attention.

The objects form a constellation of elements shaped around warmth as material, atmosphere and measure. Their presence suggests an everyday choreography of waiting, sharing and use, while opening a dialogue between vernacular memory and contemporary design. Through these pieces, Scaldini brings a historical object into the present and frames it as a tool for inhabiting space through closeness, duration and exchange.

The exhibition also unfolds as an activated environment through a public program built around its openings. Each opening corresponds to a public appointment, transforming the exhibition into a recurring moment of gathering. The energy consumed by the heated objects supports a series of reading-based events, where warmth becomes a shared condition and a common resource. In this setting, heat acts as subject, atmosphere and support, generating a temporary space of attention in which objects, bodies and voices remain in direct relation.

For Tersa, Scaldini offers a way to investigate how objects generate situations. Design becomes a practice that shapes relationships between bodies, gestures and environments. Scaldini takes form as an exhibition, a collection and a setting: a constellation of elements through which domesticity, display and collective presence are continuously reconfigured.

    Public Program

Within the exhibition Scaldini by TERSA, curated by Arianna Bettarelli, the exhibition space hosts a public program of readings conceived by the collective. The program unfolds through a series of gatherings held during the exhibition’s opening days, each one exploring from different perspectives a constellation of references connected to the objects on display.

The initiative draws on the heat produced by the braziers as a catalyst for gathering. Their warmth becomes a shared condition for meeting, creating a space in which the invited contributors guide collective reading paths and conversations that resonate with the themes of the exhibition.
